As part of a multi-centre commercial real estate venture by a major pension fund, the redevelopment of Centre Mall in Hamilton represents a $300 million investment in the revitalization of this Hamilton neighbourhood.

The program called for the demolition of 5 existing buildings on the site, totalling some 915,000 sq ft, including a large enclosed shopping mall.

New construction consisted of 30 new freestanding retail buildings including 5 banks, LCBO, METRO food store, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, Zellers, food pavilion, restaurants, CRU and fashion outlets.

AS+P were responsible for design and construction coordination of 25 of the buildings and the coordination of the balance.

The entire project was phased over several years to permit continuous operation of The Centre and its retailer tenants
