Design Builder - Belrock

The new four storey suburban home of the Durham Children’s Aid Society is located on a 5 acre parcel of land adjacent the northern edge of the Oshawa airport. The facility provides approximately 100,000 sq ft of floor space containing public service areas on the ground floor and offices and administration on the upper levels.

Public service areas include: public access center; interview rooms; life skills area; playrooms; and a public clinic with adjacent therapy rooms.

The exterior of the building is a combination of buff yellow brick, green tinted clear and reflective glazing, and aluminum panels composed in a playful dynamic configuration.  A bright red aluminum feature window articulates the entrance area.

At grade, covered canopies, benches and landscaping features create a friendly environment along with play areas for children during their visits.
